PHILIPPINE AMBASSADOR TO PORTUGAL RENEWS COMMITMENT TO THE FILIPINO DIASPORA IN PORTO

Philippine Ambassador to Portugal Paul Raymund P. Cortes met with members of the Filipino community in Porto and nearby cities on 11 May 2024 at Café Ceuta in Porto in Northern Portugal.

The Meet and Greet event brought together 35 Filipino community members  from various fields, including, science and medicine, information technology, and hospitality and service sector and Filipino scholars currently pursuing master's degree in Portuguese universities.

Ambassador Cortes reiterated the Embassy's unwavering commitment to serving the Filipino community, highlighting key programs and priorities focused on assistance to nationals and consular services for the members of the community.

He expressed the Embassy's active role in promoting the welfare of overseas Filipinos through the Embassy organized community-related activities, cultural events and consular outreach programs.

Moreover, he also underscored the invaluable contributions of the Filipino diaspora in advancing Philippine diplomatic priorities, ranging from fostering business connections to enriching people to people linkages.

In response, members of the Filipino community expressed their appreciation to the Philippine Embassy for its proactive engagement and support. 

The Meet and Greet with the Filipino community in Porto and nearby cities is one of the many initiatives of the Philippine Embassy in promoting and protecting the welfare of overseas Filipinos in Portugal.
