PHILIPPINE EMBASSY IN PORTUGAL WELCOMES THE NIGHTINGALES SOPRANO DUO

24 MAY 2024 - The Philippine Embassy in Portugal welcomed the famed Filipino soprano duo, The Nightingales, as they paid a courtesy call to Ambassador Paul Raymund P. Cortes on 23 May 2023. This visit marked the beginning of their highly anticipated musical performances in Portugal.

As part of the 20th edition of the Terras Sem Sombra Festival, the Nightingales will serenade locals from various Portuguese regions in the historic town of Mértola on 25 May 2024, at 9:30 PM, Saturday, at the Igreja Matriz de Mértola.   This will be followed by a concert organized by the Philippine Embassy at the renowned  Basilica da Estrela in Lisbon on 28 May 2024, Tuesday, at 8:00 PM.

Ambassador Cortes expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming performances, noting that The Nightingales’ concerts will showcase to the Portuguese and foreign audiences the renowned prowess of the Filipino in terms of music and will also provide a deeper awareness and understanding of Filipino culture and heritage.
