PHILIPPINE AMBASSADOR PAUL RAYMUND P. CORTES RECEIVES WARM WELCOME IN CABO VERDE

Philippine Ambassador Paul Raymund P. Cortes, along with six (6) non-resident Ambassadors to Cabo Verde, was received by Mr. José Maria Tavares Silva, Director of the State Protocol of the Republic of Cabo Verde on 25 June 2024 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Praia.

During the meeting, Ambassador Cortes, together with the Ambassadors of Bangladesh, Chile, Congo, Cyprus, Hungary and Palestine, was provided with a detailed schedule for the presentation of his credentials to the President José Maria Pereira Neves and was briefed about the planned courtesy calls with Foreign Minister Rui Alberto de Figueiredo Soares and other prominent officials of the Cabo Verde government.

The visit of Ambassador Cortes to Cabo Verde from 23 to 29 June 2024 fortifies the strong diplomatic relations between the Philippines and Cabo Verde, which was established on 21 March 2000.

Ambassador Cortes expressed his gratitude for the warm reception and reiterated the Philippines' commitment to fostering stronger bilateral ties and exploring potential areas of cooperation with Cabo Verde. END.
